FootballFirst, in collaboration with the Bolton Wanderers Football club of England is organizing a week long football festival – FootballFirst International Festival. The festival will take place from the 14th-20th November at Vasant Kunj, Delhi. During this festival, UEFA licensed coaches from England will be conducting various coaching and skill building events. There will also be a seminar centred around Indian football coaches under ‘The Football Link’ Initiative (see below). In view of the lack of structured football setup, the main objective of this festival is to create a fun and interactive environment where budding football players and coaches can experience an international standard perspective on football.
Children from over 20 top schools as well as many others have confirmed their attendance, in what is expected to be the first of many such festivals. The events and their schedules are as follows: ·
Advanced Team Coaching
14th to 18th November – 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Bolton coaches share valuable Premier League coaching experience about Game Strategies, Team Management, Formations and Team Attacking with football team’s from 20 of Delhi’s top schools, catering to individual needs of each team. We are offering this program for free to all schools.
The Football Link
14th November – 5:30 pm –7:30 pm
First hand interaction of Indian coaches with coaches from Bolton Wanderers who will provide insight into the latest coaching techniques and strategies. The objective of the seminar is to initiate a movement towards football awareness and maximize existing potential at the grass-root level.
Football Coaching Camp
15th to 16th November – 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Individual players get the opportunity to hone their technical, tactical, physical and psychological football skills in a 2 day camp with individual attention and feedback from English coaches. The camp will be held in 2 batches.
Skill Evaluation Test
19th November –2:30 pm – 5:30 pm
This is an exclusive event in which UEFA licensed coaches from Bolton Wanderers will evaluate individual players’ football skills based on international standards and methodologies, and provide assessment and feedback on ways to build upon strengths and shortcomings.
Camp For Champs
20th November – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
A fun football event for young footballers that gives them an exposure to football drills and coaching methods in an exciting carnival like atmosphere.
As a part of FootballFirst’s social initiative to promote football amongst the underprivileged youth, they are inviting two NGOs to take part in this festival free of charge.
They will also be giving away CDs/DVDs of coaching techniques taught by the Bolton Wanderers coaches during the festival, to all participants.
