10)U16 boys reaching quarters of U-16 Asian cup

The India under-16 team qualified for the quarter finals of AFC u-16 championship ahead of Iran from their group stage. The Blue Colts were a win away from registering a birth to 2019 U-17 world cup but went down fighting against South Korea in the quaters.

9) Formatio of I-League private clubs association

Seven I-League clubs barring Churchill Bros, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan formed the I-LEAGUE private clubs association siting unfair treatment from AIFF and Star Sports regarding telecast and marketing of I-League. They even started a campaign called save I-League on social media.

Minerva Punjab won the I-League in their second season emulating the feat done by Aizawl in the previous season.

7)Chennaiyin beating BFC in their fortress

Chennaiyin FC beat Bengaluru FC in the 2018 ISL final at their own fortress. The blue marines won the game 3-2 and lifted their 2nd ISL trophy.

Real Kashmir became first sports team from valley to play in the top division or League in the country. The snow leopards are currently at 2nd position in the I-League and have a chance of winning it in their first ever season.

2)India beating Argentina in COTIFF

India beat Argentina 2-1 in COTIFF U-20 tournament in Spain. This was a historic result as it was the first time India ever beat a top side like Argentina at any level barring their Golden Years.

Gaurav Mukhi stole every headline in football this year. The player became youngest ever player to score in the Indian Super League. Soon it was revealed that the player was banned from football for one year back in 2015 for age fraud in an U-15 tournament. He forget documents against and came back more younger.

AIFF banned him for 6 months and soon Mukhi caught attention of international football media and became an instant meme. It was then that his club Jamshedpur responded.
