Belgium Knock Brazil Out, France Ease Past Uruguay

Belgium beat Brazil 2-1 to reach the quarter finals of the World Cup. They face France in semi finals next. An own goal from Fernandinho and a goal from Kevin De Bruyne made the difference.

Belgium took the lead after a Kompany’s header went in of Fernandhino. Belgium doubled their lead through De Bruyne from an amazing counter attack. Augusto who came on as a substitute equalised late in the second half but that wasn’t enough. Thibaut Courtois was the hero for Belgium making some very crucial saves to keep them in the lead.

Earlier France beat Uruguay 2-0 to advance to the semi finals a goal from Raphael Varane in the first half helped France take the lead. Uruguayan goalkeeper made a howler in the second half to let Griezmann’s ball in for their second goal.
