Kylian Mbappe won a penalty and scored twice as France beat Argentina 4-3 to progress to the quarter finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
France opened the scoring in the 13th minute through a penalty from Girezmann after Mbappe was brought down in the box by Marcus Rojo. Argentina equalised through a spectacular strike from Di Maria late in the first half. They took the lead later in the second half after strike from Mercado got deflated. Defender Pavard equalised with an amazing strike which could well be the goal of the tournament. Mbappe scored 2 goals in quick succession. Aguero’s goal in stoppage time was not enough as Argentina lost the game.
