According to sources, Jeje Lalpekhlua, who has once again proven his goalscoring abilities in the Indian Super League 2015, has got trial offer from USA 2nd Division Football club that plays in the USL-I.
Jeje, who hails from Mizoram is also a national team regular, playing alongside Sunil Chhetri. The two players are also the leading Indian scorers in the ISL Season 2015; Chhetri has scored 7 while Jeje has scored 6 goals so far.
Reportedly, it is the Indian Football NT coach Stephen Constantine who has arranged the trial while he was visiting the Sacrameto Republic FC recently. Stephen Constantine feels that Jeje being young and talented, should get experience by playing abroad.
Sacramento Republic FC is a newly formed football club playing its second season in the United Soccer League, which is the second division league in the USA Soccer League hierarchy. Notably, there are no promotions or relegations in the USA Soccer Leagues as yet.
Jeje, however has not yet decided about appearing for the trial and is negotiating with Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal to play in the upcoming I-League 2016 season. IFN has not been able to confirm the news of the Sacramento FC trial independently.
