The two matches against Philippines and Nepal on November 15 and 19 respectively were supposed to be held at the refurbished stadium in Chennai.

But according to sources, the venue could not be used until the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms. Jayalalitha inaugurated the stadium. Despite several requests from the AIFF, the Chennai stadium was not made available to the team.

Amidst the speculations that the mathes might be held in Bangalore, the AIFF has announced the venue for the two friendlies to be the Knchenjungha Stadium in Siliguri, West Bengal.

Earlier, the coach of Indian football team Wim Koevermans announced the team leaving out the players who had signed for the IMG-Reliance tournament which has now been postponed.
