Meghalaya club Shillong Lajong FC has signed Scottish coach Desmond Bulpin. Bulpin comes with a very high profile CV as he has coached teams like – Philippines, India u-23 and I League club Indian Arrows.

Apart from this, he also held positions within the coaching staff in clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, QPR. He has been also involved in the development of players like Peter Crouch.

Desmond Bulpin did a decent job with I League club Indian Arrows, composed entirely of India u-23 players from which players like Jeje Lalpekhlua, Lalrindika Ralte, Jewel Raja, Shilton D’Silva, Raju Gaikwad, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu came. Announcing the signing of Bulpin, Shillong Lajong FC secretary Larsing M Sawyan said he was confident that Bulpin’s induction into the club would help them to a better position in the I-League table next season.

However, Ming claims that the existing SLFC coach, Pradyum Reddy, will be in the club overlooking youth players.

It will be interesting to see how Desmond Bulpin’s strategies work with SLFC players. Desmond Bulpin is a strict disciplinarian, who mainly relies on  team work and the long ball strategy.
