The leading football club of India Dempo SC are not done yet even after winning the I-League for a record 5th time. The celebrations are being planned to set an example in Indian football. But more importantly, Srinivas Dempo has plans for the future expansion of the club.
One of his major steps would be to rename the club after the capital city Panjim to get more fans who will feel attached to the team.
We want to change the name of the club to city based one., possibly Panjim related as the club was established from here and has its headquarters in the capital city

Members of Indian Football Forum are already giving their suggestions as to what the name should be and there is a lot of excitement palpable among the fans. Some of the suggestions being
- Panjim Rovers FC
- Panjim Athletic FC
- Panjim Goans FC
- Panjim Strikers
- Panjim United
- Panjim FC
Not only a change in name, but the club is also thinking of making the club public so that people can buy shares and have stake in the club.
We plan to go into the concept of issuing shares like they do in the west and allow the public to function as owners of the club

That will be a new revolutionary idea in Indian football. Not only will it bring a lot of fans close to the club, it can be a potential fund generator. Dempo have already planned their own stadium. With the extra funds, they can do wonders.
I am a Goan and i know Dempo sc is very popular in Goa.Renaming it to a city wow!!! it will be even more popular.
