The Gunners will host current champions Bayern Munich in the pre-quarter final match of UEFA Champions League at the Emirates Stadium.
This will be an interesting match as both the teams are in the race for title in their respective local league. But Bayern, as is the case in Bundesliga, is totally unchallenged with not a single defeat in 21 matches played so far. With their water-tight defense, they have conceded just nine goals in those many matches.
Arsenal has had a topsy-turvy ride past month as despite being the EPL table leaders, they were thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool. Though Arsenal have claimed a victory over The Reds in the FA Cup, that performance may not be enough for them to pull thorugh against Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians have come without their trusted wingers Frank Ribery and Xherdan Shaqiri who have always led the strong Bayern midfield.
The English side is set to be boosted by the return of Jack Wilshere to the starting XI although they would miss key player Mikel Arteta as he is serving suspension.
The Gunners will have in the back of their mind that it was the same team that knocked them out in the pre-quarter final last year but they would also be inspired from the fact that Arsenal managed to beat Bavarians in the reverse leg in Munich.
