Blackburn RoversBlackburn Rovers’ newly appointed manager, Micheal Appleton, finally got his first win as his side won 3-0 against Derby County to make the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Appleton, who took charge of the team early this month, had a unimpressive start as his team lost to Charlton and managed a 1-1 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Playing in Pride Park, the home of Derby County, Blackburn gave an inspired performance, taking a 1-0 lead in the first half via a Colin Kazim-Richards goal. In the second half, goals from Scott Dann and Jordan Rhodes made it a confortable 3-0 victory for the Rovers.

Interestingly, Blackburn Rovers is the 3rd team for which Micheal Appleton has been in charge for FA Cup 2012-13. Earlier in November, he was with Portsmouth which lost 0-2 against Notts County. Later when he joined Blackpool, his team drew against Fulham 1-1 (In the replay, Fulham won but Appleton had already left for Rovers by that time).
