Just fresh from Champions League disappointment, Liverpool’s times can be worsened during their trip at Old Trafford. The other three happy campaigners in Champions League will have easier test to swallow. Chelsea will like to get things back on track again with an easy home win over Hull. Manchester City will face Leicester, the team from the bottom of the table and they will like to keep their run for title defence steady. Arsenal may slip up against a high flying Newcastle unit. Southampton may fancy their chances into top four after this gameweek depending on West Ham’s results. Keeping in mind the aforesaid scenarios, we bring out some players who can prove their worth in the coming weekend.
Defenders
Chelsea, Southampton and Manchester City are the likeliest candidates to keep the clean sheet. Queens Park Rangers do not travel well and they have not won any away games so far this season, They recorded only two goals in seven away fixtures. Looking at these stats, Everton have the slightest chance of not conceding any.
Bertrand and Clyne will again prove to be handy this weekend. Terry, Cahill or Ivanovic may also have their say in the proceedings. Zabaleta recently found the back of the net against CSKA Moscow and he may well keep that run going with a goal or assist.
Apart from some of the safe options, the other defenders who may end up acquiring a size-able amount of points are Baines, Gibbs, Wisdom and Cresswell.
Midfielders
With Fabregas being suspended, the sure names among the midfielders will be Sanchez, Sigurdsson, Hazard and Tadic. They are well in form through out the season and can be trusted to fire against weaker opponents.
Aaron Ramsey (8.7) is slowly getting his silver touch back from the last season. He scored in the last two matches for Arsenal including a spectacular. The Welshman could easily earn a place in your team in the upcoming fixtures. Yaya Toure (10.8) is also on the list of rejuvenation.
James Milner (5.3) remained one of the top under-rated English midfielders in Premier League. He put on a great display for his side in last two matches and at such a lower price, he can gradually become an asset to the team.
Other than Milner, Stewart Downing (6.2) is another English midfielder who is in prime of his form this season and comes at a cheap price.
Forwards
Sergio Aguero’s injury led to many changes up front in Fantasy teams. Diego Costa now became the favourite to take his place. Graziano Pelle (8.1) found himself again on the scoring list last week and can be trusted in the side role alongside Diego Costa. Lukaku and Bony are other two consistent attackers on the pitch who bear a heavy price tag.
One of the rising stars in the Premier League now is former Barcelona man Bojan Krkic (4.9). He gifted 28 points in last 5 matches and is in fine touch to register many more.
Diafra Sakho, Danny Ings and Papis Cisse are some low budget striking options to consider.
Transfer and Captain Tips
Aguero is expected to be back after January 10th and in his absence, Diego Costa can be transferred in for him. Robin van Persie has also found himself in some kind of form and he can also be given a try, given his past reputations. In place of suspended Charlie Austin, it is advisable to play some midfielder from your team. In worst scenario, Sakho is an apt replacement for Austin.
Looking at the fixtures, Diego Costa looks all set to captain most of the fantasy league teams. Alexis Sanchez is another formidable option in this regard.
