ESPN to live telecast SAFF Championship 2013 in India


ESPN SAFF Championship 2013It has been reported that ESPN has bought the rights to telecast SAFF Championship 2013 matches live in India. A leading Nepali football website has confirmed this report.

A local channel called Kantipur TV will handle the production and the feed will be beamed on ESPN. ESPN has previously telecast AFC Challenge Cup 2012 finals and they have recently bought the Calcutta Football League rights for upcoming 7 years.

The SAFF Cup 2013 kicks off on 31st August with an encounter scheduled between Nepal and Bangladesh at 6:15 pm IST. The matches will be played in the Dasarath Rangshala Stadium and the Armed Forces ground.

India will play their first match against Pakistan on the 1st of September.
