The newly promoted Mohammedan Sporting club has hinted that they will go against the unanimous decision of the Indian professional football clubs’ association (IPFCA) to boycott the IMG-Reliance contracted players.
According to reports, Mehtab Hossain, Ishfaq Ahmed and Mehrajuddin Wadoo, all of whom are currently contracted with IMG-R are in the radar of Fuja Tope, the TD of Mohammedan Sporting club (MDSC).
MDSC is also one of the worst performers in the club licensing criteria and hence is also going soft on AIFF. Unlike other leading I-league clubs, MDSC is not protesting AIFF’s demand for INR 1 lakh and going ahead with the re-application for club licensing.
It would be interesting to see whether this crack that has opened up within the IPFCA regarding its stand on the IMG-R proposed football league and other issues, widens and other walk the line.
