According to recent reports, East Bengal’s midfield maestro Mehtab Hussain is all set to go for trials in English League Two (4th division) and League One (3rd division) clubs.

Alan Gow, who was signed by East Bengal in the last season, and now plays for Exeter City (a league Two club), has informed Mehtab Hussain that he has arranged him to have training sessions in his club and trials in few of the League Two and League One clubs. If, there’s no Visa issues, then Mehtab will be leaving for England on 30th June.

After his heroics in the 2010/11 season, Mehtab Hussain bagged a ‘double’ at the Indian Football Awards, organised by the Football Players Association of India (FPAI), by winning the Best India Player award and the Fans’ Player of the Year award. This season, however, he has not been at his best, mainly due to injuries. Mehtab, who has been aspiring to be a footballer since he was 12 yrs old, has been looking for a opportunity in Europe, and thanks to his ex-teammate Alan Gow, he has finally got that.
