The match took place at Maktoum Stadium, Al Nasr Sports Club in Dubai, which was attended by hundreds of overseas Filipino workers and a few visiting Filipino celebrities.
The scorers were Kenja Turaev (12th minute) and Ivan Nagaev (43rd, 65th minute) for Uzbekistan U23. The Azkals were simply outcast and looked completely out of shape. They have a short 10 day training camp going on in Dubai but it could prove insufficient.
The Azkals will next face the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) professional football team Al Ahli SC in Doha on Monday.
Their last game in UAE will be against Australia’s Qantas Under-23 on Thursday.
The team is preparing for the AFC Challenge Cup to be held in March this year in Nepal.
