India vs Philippines: Players to observe silence for Haiyan victims

Thousand of innocent lives were lost in Philippines while the Azkals traveled away from home to play a series of friendlies against UAE and India.

The typhoon Haiyan has claimed as many as 10,000 lives back home which will certainly be in the back of the minds of the players who have not visited home ever since the calamity struck.

The organizers of the India vs Philippines football friendly have decided to pay respect to the people who were affected by the natural disaster. A one minute silence is to be observed in remembrance of the Haiyan victims.

Philippines’ star player said that he would like to win this match for the people who had to suffer due to the typhoon.

We are taking this match as part of our preparation for the Challenge Cup and also to pay tribute to all who died in the Typhoon
