The promising Mizo striker Jeje Lalekhluah who plays for the Dempo Sports Club has been called for the Indian football team to replace Dawson Fernandes who has been dropped from the list due to injury.

Jeje Lalpekhlua was a regular in the Indian national team until a while back when injury and bad patch in form let him down. He was kept in the standby list by the coach Wim Koevermans.

The 22 year old has scored 2 goals so far for the Dempo SC in 6 matches and has scored 8 goals in the Indian jersey in 16 international matches.

Indian team is slated two play one friendly match each against the Azkals (Philippines) and Nepal football team on 15th and 19th of this month respectively. The Kanchenjungha Stadium in Siliguri is slated to host the two matches back to back.
