ESPNStar has once again acquired the telecast rights of Calcutta Football League and the IFA Shield. Last time CFL or IFA Shield was on ESPN in 2006.

The contract with a regional channel, News Time, has been annulled since the parent company of News Time channel is a chit fund group which has run into a serious financial trouble.

The deal was finalized with ESPN for 7 years. Indian Football Association (IFA) will be earning Rs 2 crore each year from this deal.

ESPN has agreed on using at least 5 camera angles for the telecast of the matches but only a selected few matches will be shown live.
